Short version: no cookies, no tracking, no ads, no account. Your screenshots and plans never leave your device. The web server only keeps a short log with shortened IP addresses for 14 days.

The Polytopia Planner is a free, private, non-commercial fan project. It is not affiliated with Midjiwan AB.
The website runs on a server rented from Hostinger International Ltd. (61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus), located in Frankfurt, Germany. When you open the website, your browser sends technical data that the server needs to deliver the pages. The server writes a log entry for each request with:
Purpose: running the website securely and finding errors or attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, working website). The log files are deleted automatically after 14 days. The data is not combined with other data and not passed on, except as far as the hosting provider processes it on my behalf.
Screenshots you load, units, drawings, notes and plans are processed only in your browser and saved in its local storage (localStorage / IndexedDB) so they are still there next time. They are never uploaded to the server. The text recognition for stars / income / turn also runs entirely in your browser; its program files are loaded from this server. You can delete everything with Menu → Clear everything or by clearing the website data in your browser.
The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no social media plugins and no external fonts. All files are loaded from this server only.
Only if you tap the 🎤 button, the app uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. Depending on the browser, your speech is processed by the browser maker – for example Google (Chrome) or Apple (Safari) – under their privacy terms. The app itself does not record or store audio; it only receives the recognized text. If you don't want this, use the keyboard instead.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21). Because IP addresses are shortened before they are saved, I can usually not assign log entries to a person. Just write to the e-mail address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
If the website changes (for example new features), this policy will be updated. The current version is always on this page.
